In its 5th year of existence the Apostolic Carmel Alumni saga continues……………
The Alumni faithfully meet up every month to ideate, implement and renew our avowed “reach-out” to our Alma Mater and hence the celebration of our School feast doubles up as our AGM too.

This year the event was held on Saturday, 20th July, 2013. Apart from being yet another ex-student meet, replete with its round of affectionate hugs and reminiscing school-feast celebrations of yesteryear, it had its unique features as well. The event commenced with a solemn invocation to our Patroness, Our Lady of Mt. Carmel. The evening marked the “come-back” of our dear Sr. Pearl Anne after her recent bout of illness. Her address and that of Sr. Thelma were inspiring and thought provoking.

Arlene did the honors of presenting the “thrust and tone” of the Alumni through her lucid presentation, showcasing the Alumni achievements and the vision statement for the year ahead. The hearty rendition of the school anthem moved many of us to tears. We were overwhelmed with the fact that our beloved school had completed its 60th year of existence.

What followed was a gregarious evening of fun, music and bonhomie, presided over by Francesca Pereira, our vivacious compere for the evening. As sumptuous snacks did the rounds, the girls dived headlong into the “Hatters Parade” game, sashaying down the hall in their makeshift hats with infectious hilarity. The school hall reverberated with revelry of girls dancing merrily to the popular tunes belted forth until we called it quits and the evening drew to a close.

And even as we vended our way homewards, we are of the firm conviction that the AGM will continue to be a re-charge of the enduring warmth of our school bonding for many more years to come.

Over to the next time we meet.
