August 17 saw the french students of our school hosting their first french day. It began on the dot at 9am with two pièces de theatre or plays performed by classes ix and x . Three eminent judges were invited. Madame Bona, retired headmistress of St.Andrews Primary School , Ma’am Puneeta Budhraj from the Alliance Français de Bombay who also teaches at École Mondiale and Sidra Ladha, an ex student who scored 98% in French in her boards. After two wonderful performances class X emerged the winner while Ryanne Lobo of class X and Yanna shared the Best Actor spot.

The french teachers and students of St.Josephs Convent Bandra also attended .

The fête was then declared officially open by the Chief Guest Fr.Magi, Principal of St.Andrew High School. He even played a few games! The french food was irresistable!! Crêpes with nutella, blueberry and honey, quiche lorraine, chocolate eclairs, meringues and vol au vent all made by students and their parents. In keeping an old french tradition there was a chocolate cake with a ring hidden inside. This was the Roi de gallete, where the person who finds the ring becomes king for a day. Mahek Patel of class VIII was crowned and got a lot of freebies. Our littles students had the most fun. Students of class VI,VII took part in all the games and won fabulous prizes. There was a Photobooth with props and a request counter that kept everyone on their feet..

A T-Shirt painting competition saw some amazing talent and 3 winners Afifa Ansari, Abigail Fernandes and Subhra Vaity took home some great prizes.Kudos to class X students Britney Dharmai and Ishita Dhanjee who meticulously planned and executed the entire event. A big thank you to Sr.Pearlanne for letting us host this day. And thank you to everyone for making it a success.
